How Does Reach and Location Work?

• Global Positioning via Find My (Apple Network): The PetTrack Mini uses Bluetooth 5.2 to communicate with Apple's vast, global network of devices (millions of iPhones, iPads, and Macs). When your pet wearing the tracker comes near an Apple device with the Find My feature enabled, that device picks up the tracker's signal and sends its location (anonymized and encrypted) to Apple servers. You can then see its location on a map in your own Find My app, no matter where in the world your pet is, as long as it's within range of an Apple device.

• Direct Nearby Search (Bluetooth Range): If you're in the immediate vicinity of your pet (for example, at home or at the park), you can ping the tracker directly with your iPhone via Bluetooth. The specifications list a "Sound Search: 10-20 meters." This means that within this range, you can play a sound on the tracker to locate your pet if it's hidden under bushes or inside your house, for example.

• Motion Alerts: The tracker can alert you to motion or when your pet leaves a preset safe zone, directly via notifications on your Apple device.
